Frequently Asked Questions about Cafeteria Benefits

1. What sort of company can implement Cafeteria Benefits?

Minimum salary will need to be around £10,000 + NI and total payroll will need to be around £200,000 per annum +NI. The crucial issue will be level of contributions with the minimum contribution from the minimum salary needing to be 5%. A few questions from us will enable us to advise you of your best option.

2. Do I have to offer Cafeteria Benefits to all my staff?

No. You can offer a Menu to senior staff or selected key workers. Our most successful schemes offer the same Menu but with tiered contributions depending on seniority with lower contributions to junior staff as part of an overall incentive policy.

3. Can you accommodate our existing arrangements?

Yes we can. We will conduct a full evaluation of your current arrangements and, where we feel it is appropriate and after consulting you, we will make the appropriate recommendations with regard to your existing benefits.

4. Will you offer my employees advice outside the Menu?

No.

5. How do you get paid?

That is up to you. We can work on a commission basis, a fee basis or a mixture of both. This issue will form part of our initial discussions.

6. Is there really no liability attaching to the employer?

Apart from paying the premiums on time and making deductions from payroll, there are none.

7. Can my company choose to take a more active role?

Yes, we can work with your payroll, whether it is outsourced or in-house and provide whatever reports are required as often as is necessary. The whole process is completely transparent.

8. How will staff communicate with you?

Through a dedicated freephone number, a dedicated e-mail address and a nominated person in our Menu Support. A member of our staff will visit your premises every 3 months to meet leavers and joiners, unless we are not required.

9. How often will staff be able change their benefits?

Once each year or they need never change them. We will contact each member of staff on the anniversary of their benefits to remind them of their options.

10. How will staff know what to choose?

We will conduct a seminar, provide introductory literature and meet with each member of staff individually.
